Kind friends of the Upper Crust:
It behooves us firstly to speak of our great and unalloyed affection for you, which in these heady days of Spring is very like the sweetness of the honeysuckle vine, that lures the bees and hummingbirds with the promise of its divine nectar. So would we lure you into our tender embrace.
That said, down to business. We have calculated quite disinterestedly that you owe us your mandatory attendance at two Rocque and Roll shows, one in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, at the Midway on Monday, May 20th; the second in New York City, at the Bowery Electric, on Saturday, May 25th.
As you have read this, we are blithely assured of your presence at both these events, and it gladdens our lovesick heart to contemplate the happiest of days when all our most perverse and tentative imaginings concerning yourself shall be unreservedly fulfilled.
Lest we forget, our Lordships the Duc d’Istortion, Jackie Kickassis, Count Bassie and the Lord Bendover also await your pleasure with the greatest enthusiasm, their guitars and steam-powered amplifiers ever at the ready.
O, do come, we pray you!
Your Faithful Servant in Rocque,
Secretary and Manservant to Their Lordships the Upper Crust
Stay in touch!
